Engineering Society of Illinois chapter honors Fiorito

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Ryne Fiorito, P.E., S.E., the building structural discipline manager at Hanson Professional Services Inc., has been named Engineer of the Year by the Capital Chapter of the Engineering Society of Illinois (ESI).

Fiorito, who joined Hanson in 2009 and works at the Springfield headquarters, is a member of ESI and was named the Capital Chapter’s Young Engineer of the Year in 2017. He manages Hanson’s building structural engineering discipline and performs design, development and construction services for educational, industrial, medical, military and water-supply facilities; parking garages; pedestrian bridges; levees; municipal landfills; and power-generating stations and facilities across the country and abroad.

Fiorito received a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering in 2008 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in physics with engineering in 2009 from Illinois College. He is a licensed professional engineer in several states, including Illinois, and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and Washington.

The award is based on educational and engineering achievements, professional and technical society activities, civic and humanitarian activities and continuing professional competence. ESI Capital Chapter award recipients were honored April 16 during an annual awards banquet at Arlington’s Catering & Historic Venue.
