Palmetto Expressway/Okeechobee Road
Project Summary
Hanson conducted a project development and environment study, which developed and evaluated traffic operations and safety improvements along State Road 25/Okeechobee Road and South River Drive between Northwest 95th Street and West 18th Avenue and the interchange with State Road 826/Palmetto Expressway in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The study alternatives included direct ramp connections from Okeechobee Road to and from the Palmetto Expressway, including all necessary improvements to intersections along Okeechobee Road. The study included a comprehensive public involvement program with a project advisory committee.
Hanson provided final design services, including the preparation of construction plans for three direct connect flyover ramps from Okeechobee Road to the Palmetto Expressway. Hanson also provided all necessary signing and pavement marking plans, signalization and lighting, stormwater drainage, intelligent transportation system improvements and maintenance of traffic.
