Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT) to join our team. This entry-level to early-career position offers the opportunity to contribute to engineering projects across multiple markets and disciplines. You’ll work closely with licensed engineers and project managers to support planning, design, and construction efforts for projects.
This role is designed for professional growth, learning, and increasing responsibility, with exposure to diverse project types and technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Depending on background, assist in civil, geotechnical, and structural engineering design across all phases—from concept and scoping to detailed design and construction support
- Perform engineering calculations and utilize design software for analysis and plan development
- Support site investigations, field reconnaissance, and data collection
- Assist with permit applications, utility coordination, and construction documentation
- Contribute to the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with senior technical staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Apply applicable design standards and criteria to assigned tasks
- Participate in project close-out activities and documentation
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required
- Registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) required or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 0–3 years of relevant civil engineering experience
Technical Skills:
- Experience with or ability to learn relevant design software
- Familiarity with 3D modeling for civil/site development projects
- Working knowledge of design standards such as AASHTO and local DOT manuals is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments across disciplines
Soft Skills:
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and excel as a designer and professional
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines

The salary range for this position is $72,000 – $82,000 per year, depending on degree and experience.
