IN WADE’S WORDS“Helping owners and facility operators achieve their goals of well-functioning and optimized mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, which creates greater indoor environments to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint, is an honor and privilege. Knowing that I am part of the team that provides a comfortable and healthy indoor environment is extremely satisfying.”

With specialized experience in the field of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical systems and controls, Wade offered trusted insights as the coronavirus emerged in 2020, giving presentations to a U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce staff briefing, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, ASHRAE, the Florida Airports Council and a joint Energy Management Association/APPA – Leadership in Educational Facilities webinar, among others. Wade was also tapped for interviews with various media outlets, such as The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Tampa Bay, Florida’s WTSP-TV and Retrofit magazine, where he shared his HVAC knowledge to educate audiences on critical topics of concern regarding COVID-19, such as air conditioning and air flow, office ventilation, mitigation strategies and best practices for HVAC operations.

Dedicated to the industry, Wade is active in ASHRAE and has held various positions at chapter, region and society levels, including as the society’s vice president, chair of its Technology Council and vice chair of its Standard 110 committee. He was a voting member of the Epidemic Task Force and served as its Building Readiness Team lead; he then became a voting member on Standard 241: Control of Infectious Aerosols. He also is the past chair of Guideline 1.6P Subcommittee: Commissioning for Data Centers. Wade has received many ASHRAE awards, including the Presidential Certificate of Honor, Distinguished Service Award, Exceptional Service Award and a Technology Award.
