More than 60 airports, ranging from medium hub to general aviation, have benefited from the deep knowledge of Susan Zellers, P.E., AAE, ENV SP. A senior project manager and Hanson’s aviation planning lead, Susan brings more than 30 years of aviation planning and design to the clients she serves.
Prior to her time with Hanson, Susan spent five years on staff with the Indianapolis Airport Authority as the deputy director of planning and development. That time allowed her to oversee the planning and project implementation for Indianapolis International Airport and five reliever airports, an experience that has given her a client’s perspective of airport operations.
The author of several Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) projects, including the Research Report 260: Airport Energy Resiliency Roadmap; WebResource 13: Airside Planning, Design, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance; Research Report 16: Guidebook for Managing Small Airports, Second Edition; and Research Report 195: Best Practices for Airport Obstruction Management Guidebook, Susan has served on several ACRP project panels. She is also an accredited airport executive, an Envision Sustainability Professional and an instrument-rated private pilot.
