Joe Worley

Joe is an assistant vice president and senior project manager at Hanson, serving as a regional aviation lead based in Indianapolis. In this role, he is responsible for supervising engineers, planners and support staff; securing appropriate project resources; and aligning projects with scope, schedule and client expectations.

With more than 30 years of civil engineering experience, Joe specializes in airport programming, planning, design and construction management for airfield pavement and geometric projects. His work has focused on primary and large general aviation airport clients across the Midwest, including the Indianapolis Airport Authority and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board. He has extensive expertise in facilities management, ranging from runways, taxiways and aprons to terminal access, service roads and equipment at multiple general-aviation, Part 139-certified, reliever and commercial-service airports, along with management of pavement condition index survey projects at various military facilities throughout the country for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Known for his strong project leadership, Joe directs personnel and work assignments in accordance with all governmental requirements and regulatory measures and keep the client’s best interest at the forefront.

Joe is an active member of the American Association of Airport Executives’ Great Lakes Chapter, Aviation Indiana and the Society of American Military Engineers. Early in his career, he served in the 744th Engineer Detachment of the Illinois Army National Guard, supporting construction and renovation projects for state and military facilities across the state and completing multiple deployments to Panama.
