Hanson has provided services for over 100 BNSF telecom projects in the U.S. and Canada. Services have included environmental and construction permitting, geotechnical soil exploration, resistivity testing and foundation analysis, power drop coordination, site layout design, bid document preparation, municipal government coordination, tower foundation design and drone footage collection.

Hanson has also assisted BNSF with creating standard plans for internal and external use; the final product includes more than 50 standard plans covering trenching, horizontal directional drilling, vaults, bungalows, towers, cameras, fencing, automatic gates and grounding. Hanson’s projects have supported positive train control (PTC) initiatives, self -supported towers ranging in height from 40-180 feet, deployment of new fiber-optic backbone and necessary provisions to attach conduits to bridges, including the 4,874-foot-long BNSF bridge across lake Pend Orielle in Idaho.
