AdventHealth chose Hanson to provide commissioning services for the expansion of its Winter Garden, Florida, medical center including the addition of two patient floors above the existing three-story facility.
The new construction encompassed 204,662 square feet, and the renovation consisted of 18,066 square feet. Hanson commissioned the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls systems for the facility renovation and patient-tower addition.
Hanson managed the project’s commissioning documentation through the CxAlloy web portal, which included a dedicated project site. The portal supported project team communication and timely document dissemination from design review through the acceptance phase.
The commissioning scope of services included a construction document design review; a review and update of the commissioning specifications to align with the project scope; development of a commissioning plan; request for information reviews; builder submittals; component verification checklists; review of test and balance reports; a commissioning issues log; coordination with relevant testing and quality control measures performed by other organizations; evaluation and documentation of the systems start-up; preparation of functional performance tests and integrated systems tests; review and evaluation of the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning test and balance execution plan; and a review of the duct pressure test, pipe flush and International Electrical Testing Association test reports.
Hanson’s post-occupancy services included reviewing operations and maintenance manualsp; preparing a final commissioning report and systems manual; conducting a warranty review meeting; and issuing a final addendum to the commissioning report.
AdventHealth later sole-sourced Hanson to commission the next vertical expansion of the patient tower, which includes three additional floors at 107,000 square feet. Two of the three floors are being built out as a part of this project. Anticipated occupancy is fall 2026.
