Indianapolis International Airport services

Project Summary

The Indianapolis Airport Authority selected Hanson to provide professional engineering services at the Indianapolis International Airport, refurbishing Runway 5L-23R — an 11,200-foot by 150-foot runway — and parallel Taxiways A, C and D. This rehabilitation included concrete panel replacement, joint cleaning and sealing, bituminous pavement repair and pavement marking.

Serving more than 8.5 million customers a year, the Indianapolis International Airport accommodates more than 10 airlines and is the ninth largest cargo airport in the United States. The airport also is the second largest hub for Federal Express, with approximately 650 flights and 3 million packages leaving the airport per week.

Hanson also provided the following services: data collection, pavement survey and evaluation, preliminary and final design, preparation of construction plans, specifications and bid documents, construction phasing and coordination, bidding assistance, construction administration and construction observation assistance.
