UCF Downtown Campus central energy plant Cx

Project Summary

The University of Central Florida chose Hanson to perform commissioning services for its new downtown campus’s central energy plant (CEP), which will provide chilled water to the other buildings on the downtown campus. This phased CEP can provide 1,100 tons of cooling with a final build-out of 4,800 tons.

The scope of services includes fundamental and enhanced commissioning, in accordance with LEED v2009, of select mechanical heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, as well as plumbing. The project is a design-build venture and consists of design, construction and post-occupancy commissioning for the campus’s chilled water system. The project is tracking to achieve LEED v2009 Gold certification.
