U.S. chemical company rail growth project, Phase 1

Project Summary

A U.S. chemical company chose Hanson to provide professional engineering services for Phase 1 of improvements to its facility in the southern U.S. After reviewing its rail operations, track configurations and current and projected volumes of traffic, the project owner determined its goal to improve service and reduce rail-switching moves.

Hanson's scope of services included preliminary horizontal design; site investigation, including topographic and location surveys, geotechnical borings and utility location; design of a bayou crossing, track connections and track reconfiguration; construction phasing and procurement; and project management.
