Coombe honored with "Executive Engineer" designation
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — John Coombe, P.E., S.E., ExecEng, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently was honored with the Executive Engineer (ExecEng) designation from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
ACEC established the Executive Engineer designation to recognize the attainment of experience, education and leadership excellence of individuals in the engineering industry. It represents the highest designation level, recognizing business management achievements in the industry and technical competence. It also is one of three professional designation programs designed by ACEC to set the national standards of business management and leadership excellence in the engineering industry.
ACEC is the voice of America's engineering industry. Member companies are engaged in a wide range of engineering works that propel the nation's economy and enhance and safeguard America's quality of life. These works allow Americans to drink clean water, enjoy a healthy life, take advantage of new technologies, and travel safely and efficiently. ACEC member firms employ hundreds of thousands of engineers, architects, land surveyors, scientists and other specialists.
Coombe currently serves on ACEC’s national risk management and transportation committees. He served on ACEC-Illinois’ board of directors for seven years and acted as secretary/treasurer during a portion of his term. Additionally, Coombe is a past recipient of the national community service award from ACEC.
