Redden celebrates 20 years of service at Hanson

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — John Redden, P.E., a senior railroad designer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Kansas City metropolitan office, recently celebrated 20 years of service with the company.

Prior to joining Hanson in 1998, Redden worked for 19 years in the design and construction department for the Consolidated Rail Corp. in Philadelphia. At Hanson, he plans industrial rail yards, analyzes train operations and designs track alignments. He also provides analysis and permitting of “quiet zones,” in which trains do not sound their horns when approaching crossings. He manages projects that involve state transportation departments, transit agencies and major railroads.

Redden received his bachelor’s degree in business and economics in 1971 from the University of Delaware, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology in 1976 from Temple University and a Master of Business Administration in 1989 from Widener University. He is a licensed professional engineer in 11 states and a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and its Committee 1: Roadway and Ballast.

Hanson is a national, employee-owned consulting firm providing engineering, planning and allied services. The Kansas City metropolitan office is located at 10740 Nall Ave., Suite 200, Overland Park, KS 66211. The office may be reached by phone at (913) 214-3180.
