Almy celebrates 10 years at Hanson

ROCKFORD, Ill. — David Almy, P.E., transportation engineer, recently celebrated 10 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Rockford office.

He specializes in providing roadway design for residential streets and highways, with an emphasis on geometric design. Prior to joining Hanson, Almy worked for a civil engineering consulting firm and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

During his career at Hanson, he has worked on the widening and reconstruction of a 22-mile section of Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Boone, McHenry and Kane counties in Illinois; a roundabout at Main and Auburn streets in Rockford, which was the first dual-lane roundabout in that city and on a state highway in Illinois; roadway and infrastructure improvements for Northern Illinois University’s campus expansion in DeKalb and an interchange design study for the reconstruction of the Interstate 39 and U.S. 20 interchange in Winnebago County.

Almy has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Iowa. He is a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers.
