Willey celebrates 15 years at Hanson’s headquarters

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Matt Willey, P.E., S.E., a structural engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently celebrated 15 years of service at the firm’s Springfield headquarters.

Willey, who joined Hanson in 2002, provides structural design for bridges. He has been involved with projects including the Tri-State Tollway’s roadway and bridge widening in Cook County; Tanana River Bridge in Salcha, Alaska, which is part of Alaska Railroad Corp.’s Northern Rail Extension between North Pole and Delta Junction; Paducah and Louisville (P&L) Railroad relocation for the Kentucky Dam lock addition on the Tennessee River in Kentucky; and numerous bridge inspections for the Illinois Department of Transportation.

He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering in 2001 from Bradley University and in 2007 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, respectively. He is a licensed professional and structural engineer in Illinois and a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois.
