Tim Goetz celebrates 40 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Tim Goetz, P.E., S.E., project manager, recently celebrated 40 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield, Ill., headquarters.
Goetz joined the company in 1974. He provides design services and prepares contract documents for water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities, highway and railroad bridges and shoreline and flood protection projects. He also has designed support for excavation and retaining wall projects, buildings and civil engineering structures.
During his career, he has worked on a variety of projects for education, health-care, military, telecommunications and transportation clients. He was a structural engineer for the Project Hoosier Safely Acting for Everyone Together (SAFE-T) in Indiana and for Voice of America’s broadcast station projects in the Northern Mariana Islands, Africa, the Philippines and Kuwait. He was the principal-in-charge for the design of the University of Illinois Springfield’s University Hall, Lincoln Land Community College’s Millennium Center and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Simmons Cancer Institute, all in Springfield. He is the telecommunications task manager for the Alaska Railroad Corp.’s Port MacKenzie rail extension in Alaska’s Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1974 from Marquette University. He is a member of the West Central Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Central Illinois Section, the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and New York and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois.
