Suarez joins Hanson’s Seattle regional office
BELLEVUE, Wash. — Marcelo Suarez, civil designer, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Seattle regional office. He will oversee the construction of infrastructure improvements, including a bridge over the Coweeman River, for BNSF Railway Co. in Kelso, Wash.
Suarez has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and a master’s degree in transportation engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He was a graduate research assistant for UIUC’s Rail Transportation and Engineering Center (RailTEC), for which he worked with the infrastructure team. Prior to pursuing his master’s, he was a civil engineer for more than two years for firms in Ecuador.
