Rucker marks 10 years at Hanson

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Andrew Rucker, P.E., a civil engineer, recently celebrated 10 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Kansas City metropolitan office. He provides civil design services for railway projects, including design of horizontal and vertical railroad tracks, rail yard layouts, hydraulics and erosion control.

Rucker provided road design and grading services for Grandview Road over Route W in Jackson County, Missouri, and for Swope Park in Kansas City, Missouri. He also provided railroad track design, site grading and drainage services for Kansas City Southern Railway Co.’s Sanchez Yard in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and KCS’ Shreveport, Louisiana, north lead extension in Caddo County. He was the civil engineer for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co.’s Argentine Yard fast tracks, design and construction management project in Kansas City, which involved realigning 35,000 feet of rail yard track, designing a public grade crossing design and storm sewer. Rucker also was the civil designer for track and site layout for conceptual design on the Union Pacific Railroad’s East Los Angeles Intermodal Yard’s conversion to wide-span cranes.

Rucker has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2006 from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He is a licensed professional engineer in Missouri.
