Pochop named state director for American Council of Engineering Companies of Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Michael A. Pochop, P.E., vice president of Hanson Alaska LLC, recently was named a state director for the American Council of Engineering Companies of Alaska (ACEC-AK). Serving a two-year term, Pochop is one of seven state directors on the board of directors, overseeing business affairs for the organization’s 34 member firms in Alaska.

ACEC is an organization dedicated to being the voice of America's engineering industry. ACEC members are engaged in a wide range of engineering works that propel the nation's economy, and they enhance and safeguard America's quality of life, allowing citizens to drink clean water, enjoy a healthy life, take advantage of new technologies, and travel safely and efficiently.

Pochop has nearly 20 years of experience in the engineering industry, working on a variety of transportation-related projects and managing business opportunities throughout Alaska.  He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Alaska Professional Design Council, and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association. 

He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University.
