Pochop marks 15 years of service at Hanson
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Michael Pochop, P.E., vice president of Hanson Alaska LLC’s Anchorage office, recently celebrated 15 years of service with the company.
Pochop joined Hanson in 1998 and was a senior transportation engineer and project manager before he became vice president in 2008 of Hanson’s wholly owned subsidiary in Anchorage. He manages projects throughout the state, working with corporate clients and federal, state, borough and municipal agencies. As transportation engineer and project manager, he was involved in railway and roadway projects for clients such as the Alaska Railroad Corp., BNSF Railway Co., Illinois Tollway, Iowa Department of Transportation and Missouri Department of Transportation.
Pochop has more than 21 years of engineering experience. Prior to joining Hanson, he worked at WHKS & Co. as a highway engineer for Iowa Department of Transportation projects. Pochop received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1991 from Iowa State University. He is chairman of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association’s (AREMA) Committee 24 – Education and Training, and a state director for the American Council of Engineering Companies of Alaska. He also is a member of the Alaska Professional Design Council, Alaska Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers and National Society of Professional Engineers.
