Opie joins Hanson in Kansas City office

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Scott Opie, P.E., recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Kansas City, Mo., office as a railroad engineer.  In his new role, Opie will provide rail, transportation, drainage and site design services for Hanson’s rail clients nationwide.

Opie has more than 13 years of experience in the design and construction of various public and private rail and transportation projects.  During his career, he has worked as a project manager and project engineer on several rail projects for Union Pacific and the BNSF Railway Co.

He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering, both from the University of Kansas.  He also is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas and Missouri.  Opie is a member of the American Public Works Association and the Society of American Military Engineers’ Greater Kansas City Post.
