Naismith/Hanson hires Koester as senior biologist and ecologist

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Chemaine Koester, senior biologist and ecologist, recently joined Naismith/Hanson’s Corpus Christi office. She will supervise and mentor the ecological services group in this office.

Koester has significant experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) regulatory permitting, along with other ecological services capabilities. Before joining Naismith/Hanson, she was a senior environmental biologist for an international architectural, engineering and consulting firm and a regulatory specialist for the USACE Galveston District, both in Corpus Christi. She also was a project scientist from 2000 to 2005 and 2011 to 2013 for Naismith Engineering Inc. Naismith was acquired by Hanson Professional Services Inc. in September 2016.

She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental science from the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, respectively. She is a member of Executive Women International and the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation.
