Hanson’s Kurt Bialobreski named Young Engineer of the Year

PEORIA, Ill. — Kurt Bialobreski, P.E., PTOE, a traffic engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Peoria, Ill., office, recently was named the Young Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) – Central Illinois Section.

Bialobreski was recognized for his engineering achievements, including his participation in Peoria’s Warehouse District and Washington Street revitalization projects; serving on the design team for the first dual roundabout on an Illinois highway; and designing the first high-intensity activated crosswalk signal in the greater Peoria area.  Bialobreski is a member of ASCE, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the city of Pekin’s Chamber of Commerce - Transportation Committee.  He also is an active public speaker, delivering engineering presentations for the American Public Works Association’s Illinois Chapter Conference, the Illinois Association of Highway Engineers, and the ASCE – Peoria Area Branch.  

He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
