Berry celebrates 20 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Darrel Berry, manager of Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s marketing communications department, recently celebrated 20 years of service at the firm’s Springfield, Ill., headquarters.
Berry joined the company in 1995 as a graphic designer. Prior to joining Hanson, he was a graphic designer for the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives and the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, both in Springfield.
He provides services for and oversees the production of marketing materials, employee and client newsletters, presentations, advertising, videos and websites for the company and clients. He also assists with public-involvement activities for projects and guides the planning and presentation production for Hanson’s annual shareholder and employee meeting. He managed Hanson’s corporate branding efforts, which included working with a consultant on a new company website and establishing a training program for employees. The new website placed third in the corporate website category of ZweigWhite’s Marketing Now 2010 Marketing Excellence Awards.
Under his leadership, the marketing communications department also received an Award of Excellence from the International Academy of the Visual Arts Communicator Awards in 2012 and third place in the special event marketing campaign category of ZweigWhite’s The Zweig Letter 2013 Marketing Communications Excellence Awards, both in recognition of the company’s 2011 holiday card, which was produced in print and in an animated Web version.
Berry received a bachelor’s degree in graphic design in 1990 from Indiana State University. He is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region and has participated in the Greater Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Springfield program.
