Keim celebrates 20 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jo Ellen Keim, CPA, executive vice president and chief financial officer, recently celebrated 20 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield, Ill., headquarters.
Keim joined the company in 1995 as director of the corporate services division. She was elected a vice president and corporate treasurer in 1998, chief financial officer in 2000, senior vice president in 2005 and executive vice president in 2014. She oversees the financial operations of the company, including accounting; financial reporting; budget preparation; federal, state and local tax reporting; and the treasury function.
Prior to joining the firm, she was an accountant for Ernst & Ernst in Chicago, a real estate accounting manager for McDonald’s Corp. in Oak Brook, Ill., an instructor for Illinois College’s Department of Economics and Business Administration, director of the member services division for the Teachers’ Retirement System in Springfield and state accounting director for the Illinois comptroller’s office.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1975 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in accountancy in 1985 from Sangamon State University. She received a Woman of Excellence Award from the Illinois treasurer at the 2008 Smart Women, Smart Money symposium in Chicago.
