Jeff Bowen joins Hanson Professional Services Inc.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  — Jeff Bowen, P.E., recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc. as a vice president and will lead the firm’s Florida transportation and infrastructure efforts from the firm’s Jacksonville, Fla., office. Bowen will focus on expanding Hanson’s involvement in railroad and transportation projects throughout Florida and assist in guiding Hanson’s aviation market.

“We recognize that Florida is a major gateway to the country’s southeast and East Coast regions. The continued growth and demand on the existing transportation systems that are used for moving goods and people through this area continue to increase. Jeff Bowen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from the transportation industry, and we are excited to have him lead our Florida transportation and infrastructure program,” Hanson’s President and CEO Sergio Pecori, P.E., said.

Before joining Hanson, Bowen was a vice president at Reynolds, Smith and Hills Inc., a national facilities and infrastructure firm based in Jacksonville. His experience includes planning and designing major transportation systems and supporting the development of state transportation policy. Bowen has extensive experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and has helped facilitate projects with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Specializing in interstate operations and policy, Bowen managed the master planning and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) approval of one of the first reversible lane systems in Florida (Interstate 595) and oversaw microsimulation efforts for the Interstate 95 express lane project in Miami. He also played a key role in assisting FDOT’s central office in creating an interchange request, development process and procedures and “The Interchange Handbook.”

Additionally, Bowen managed the NEPA approval and design of the Palm Beach International Airport direct connector system, obtained NEPA approval of the Interstate 295/Collins Road collector distributor system and managed the South Florida East Coast Corridor rail study.

Bowen is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and Michigan. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida.
