Harris celebrates 10 years at Hanson’s Sarasota regional office

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — Michael Harris, aviation planner at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Sarasota, Fla., regional office, recently celebrated 10 years of service with the company.

Prior to joining the company in 2005 at the Indianapolis office, he worked for a geotechnical consulting firm in Indianapolis. At Hanson, he has provided design and planning for airport projects and construction observation for airport, highway and building construction projects, including a fiber optic transmission system for a traffic control tower at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport; the reconstruction of a runway at Valkaria Airport in Florida’s Brevard County; improvements to Naples Municipal Airport’s water management system in Naples, Fla.; multiple improvements at Indianapolis International Airport; a sinkhole mitigation and runway rehabilitation at Monroe County Airport in Bloomington, Ind.; and a land use master plan, runway widening and the design of an aircraft rescue and firefighting station at St. Louis Downtown Airport in Cahokia, Ill.

Harris received a bachelor’s degree in public affairs and environmental science in 1999 from Indiana University Bloomington.
