INDIANAPOLIS — Four employees at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Indianapolis office recently celebrated milestone service anniversaries.

Three have worked for Hanson for 15 years, having joined the firm in 1999. Scott Cannon, technician, has provided design and construction inspection services on roadway, bridge and traffic sign projects, including the Interstate 90 widening and reconstruction in Boone, McHenry and Kane counties in Illinois, the Keystone Avenue reconstruction in Indianapolis and many projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), such as the Indiana 49 interchange replacement in Valparaiso and the U.S. 231 relocation in West Lafayette. He received an associate degree in architectural drafting in 1992 from Vincennes University.

Richard McPhail, PLS, senior surveyor, has more than 20 years of experience as a construction inspector. Prior to joining Hanson, he was an inspector for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and an assistant resident engineer for the Franklin County Highway Department in Illinois. At Hanson, his work has included management, surveying and construction inspection for projects such as the Keystone Avenue reconstruction, the U.S. 231 relocation, the new Indiana 641 Terre Haute, Ind., bypass and the Monroe County Airport sinkhole repair and runway rehabilitation in Bloomington, Ind. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology in 1989 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is a licensed professional land surveyor in Illinois and Indiana. He is a member of the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors’ Central Indiana Chapter and the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association.

Roy Milner, P.E., civil engineer, provides design and construction supervision for roadway projects. He has worked on the design of projects including the Interstate 90 widening and reconstruction and many projects for INDOT, such as the Indiana 49 interchange replacement and the U.S. 231 relocation. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1991 from Tri-State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Darin Koelm, P.E., civil and aviation engineer, recently marked 10 years with Hanson. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, he was a resident engineer for IDOT. At Hanson, he provides engineering design, asset management and geographic information system and construction engineering services for airport, bridge, roadway, telecommunications and educational facilities and military projects. His project experience includes asset management at 23 U.S. Department of Defense bases nationwide, bridge and roadway design for IDOT, inspections at precast concrete plants for the National Precast Concrete Association and 3-D design of the mitigated wetland for the U.S. 231 relocation. He received an associate degree in 1991 from Lake Land College and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1997 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Indiana.
