Dondanville becomes certified geographic information systems professional
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Matthew Dondanville, GISP, a geographic information systems (GIS) specialist at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, recently became a certified geographic information systems professional (GISP).
The GIS Certification Institute awards the GISP certification, for which applicants must pass an exam and portfolio review and have four years’ equivalent full-time geospatial experience. The institute is a nonprofit organization that provides a complete certification program to the GIS community.
Dondanville specializes in GIS and geospatial development across multiple markets, including Hanson’s unmanned aircraft system (UAS) development and processing. He has a bachelor’s degree in geography and planning from Grand Valley State University. He also has an advanced certificate in mobile GIS applications development from Long Island University.
