Hanson entered Civil + Structural Engineer magazine’s annual drone video contest, and we want your vote!
Our entry shows the installation of 1.4 million pounds of structural steel for a Norfolk Southern Corp.’s new bridge over Sixth Street in Springfield, Illinois. The footage was captured in December 2020 during a nine-day closure of the street as the contractor worked around the clock to erect structural steel plate girders that are 13 feet, 2 inches deep. The underpass is part of the Springfield Rail Improvements Project, for which Hanson is providing services, including design and construction engineering.
