Wade Conlan, P.E., CxA, BCxP, LEED AP® BD+C, Hanson’s commissioning and energy discipline manager who works at the Orlando, Florida, regional office, has been named a Distinguished Lecturer by ASHRAE for the 2023–24 society year.
The Distinguished Lecturers Program, which launched in 1996, is a cost-effective option for chapters seeking speakers who have expertise in timely, relevant topics that would interest members. Speakers agree to at least two presentations at chapter meetings each year of the two-year, renewable term.
Wade is a director-at-large for ASHRAE, an ex-officio board member of the Environmental Health Committee and the Refrigeration Technology Committee for Comfort – Process – Cold Chain and the chair of Guideline 1.6P Subcommittee: Commissioning for Data Centers. He was a voting member of the Epidemic Task Force and served as its Building Readiness Team lead; he is leading the efforts to transition the task force’s material to ASHRAE’s cognizant bodies. He is a member of the Planning Committee, Standing Standard Project Committee 300: Commissioning and its Guideline 1.1 Subcommittee: HVAC&R Technical Requirements for the Commissioning Process and a corresponding member of technical committees 9.10: Laboratory Systems and 7.9: Building Commissioning. He also serves on the ASHRAE Central Florida Chapter’s board of governors.
