CMTS/Hanson joint venture helps Greater Orlando Aviation Authority develop energy roadmap

Hanson (through our CMTS/Hanson joint venture) is helping the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) with its energy efficiency, building optimization and sustainability by helping develop an “Energy Roadmap” to guide GOAA with programs and energy-efficiency investments.

The roadmap is a critical part of the airport’s sustainability management plan and will assist airport management and facilities operations in forecasting, budgeting and prioritizing, with respect to their equipment, systems, buildings and vehicles. It also helps establish policies and procedures for the airport’s employees, and those of its airline partners and tenants, leading to greater energy and process efficiency and encouraging behaviors that save energy and money.

Hanson’s subconsultant is assisting in tasks related to the airport’s plan, including solid waste and recycling, janitorial cleaning, environmental services, pollution prevention, indoor air quality management and a commuting program. Recommendations from these efforts will aid GOAA in its efforts to become more sustainable and reduce its carbon footprint.
