Hanson to design solar photovoltaic arrays for University of Illinois

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has selected Hanson to design a series of solar photovoltaic arrays on the roofs of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building. It is anticipated that the arrays will be capable of generating an estimated 470 megawatt hours of electricity annually.

The newly constructed, 230,000-square-foot facility was designed to be one of the largest net-zero energy buildings in the nation. The addition of the solar arrays will help UIUC in its pursuit of LEED® Platinum certification.
