Hanson is providing commissioning services at the new Medic (Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Agency) headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mecklenburg County is constructing a nearly 200,000-square-foot facility to house the state’s busiest 911 emergency medical service. The facility includes new construction as well as renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings on the multi-acre site.
The facility will provide space for Medic’s operations, administration, training and finance. It also will feature a 911 call center, communication center and information technology data center. Industrial support areas will include spaces for fleet maintenance, vehicle and equipment storage, logistics, warehousing and special operations.
Hanson will commission the facility’s mechanical, building automation and standby and emergency power systems that will serve the data center along with a separate generator and automatic transfer switch, which will supply the vehicle-maintenance facility.
Construction is anticipated to be complete later this year. For more information about this project, visit buildmedic.com.
