Coalson’s team wins first-place award in ASHRAE’s 2017 Student Design Competition

Mathew Coalson, a mechanical and energy designer for Hanson’s Orlando regional office, received a first-place award from ASHRAE for the organization’s 2017 Student Design Competition.

Mathew and members of his University of Central Florida team took first place in the integrated sustainable building design category. Winners were honored Jan. 21 during the ASHRAE Winter Conference in Chicago.

Hanson’s Nate Boyd, P.E., CPMP, LEED AP®, a mechanical and energy engineer, was the group’s technical adviser.

Mathew is the research promotion chair for ASHRAE’s Central Florida Chapter.
