Bill Bradford, P.E., a senior vice president and Hanson’s energy, sustainability and resiliency principal, was recognized by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL) for his dedication to the association’s energy committee.

Bill received the President’s Award from Rick Baldocchi, P.E., president of ACEC-FL, for his efforts to start up and build the committee to more than 30 members in three years. Bill is the energy director on the organization’s board of directors.

The award was presented July 25 during the joint annual conference for the Florida Engineering Society and ACEC-FL at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Bill was a presenter July 26 during the conference. He joined Calvin Quinn, P.E., a project manager for Atkins North America Inc., to discuss the U.S. energy infrastructure and how facilities can be reengineered for renewable energy during their presentation, “America’s Energy Infrastructure and Renewable Future.”

Hanson also received its Honor Award from ACEC-FL for the commissioning of Orlando International Airport’s new South Airport Automated People Mover Complex and Intermodal Terminal Facility. Winners of the state organization’s 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards, announced in December, were recognized July 26 during an awards banquet at the conference.
