Conlan to participate in course instruction, panel discussions about HVAC and COVID-19

Wade Conlan, P.E., CxA, BCxP, LEED AP® BD+C, Hanson’s commissioning and energy discipline manager and a member of ASHRAE’s Epidemic Task Force and its Building Readiness Team, will participate in an online course and two panel discussions.

The ASHRAE Learning Institute’s “Evaluating Your HVAC System’s Readiness to Mitigate the Spread of SARS-CoV-2” course on Sept. 30 will be led by Wade and task force members Dennis Knight, P.E., FASHRAE, DAL, CxA, BEMP, LEED AP® N.C. and O&M, and Sarah Maston, P.E., BCxP, LEED AP®, who is also on the Building Readiness Team. Wade will talk about operating heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in a pandemic during the “Lessons Learned From COVID-19” discussion Oct. 15. The event is part of the Institute of Real Estate Management’s virtual summit. For more information and to register, click here.

On Oct. 22, Wade will join other members of the Building Readiness Team for the “Field Analysis of HVAC Systems’ Ability to Mitigate COVID-19 Transmission” session during the Associated Air Balance Council’s virtual annual meeting. They will talk about assessing an HVAC system’s ability to reduce the risk of transmitting a virus such as SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, and mitigation strategies.
