We wish to congratulate our friends at Arcadia Municipal Airport in Arcadia, Florida, for earning the designation of 2020 General Aviation Airport of the Year from the Florida Department of Transportation’s Aviation Office. We are honored to serve as the consultant for aviation engineering, planning and construction for this top-flight airport and its distinguished staff.
“It feels amazing to have this award,” said Arcadia Airport Director Shelley Peacock. “Our airport has come a long way with the help of Hanson and our top city officials. It is a great honor for me and my staff. We work hard and love what we do.”
Hanson has served Shelley and her staff for nearly 10 years on a variety of projects, including the turf runway and T-hangar taxilanes reconstruction, the new Taxiway Bravo, security fence and gate design and construction, runway rejuvenation and marking, electrical vault and taxiway light replacement, airport master plan development, cost estimating and grant procurement, and special event planning and coordination.
“Shelley and her team at the airport, supported by the city administrator and staff, strive each day to make the airport better,” said Senior Project Manager Blake Swafford, P.E., who serves as Hanson’s project manager for tasks at Arcadia Municipal Airport. “They aspire to have the best general aviation airport in Florida, and this award is proof positive of that effort.”
Hanson is proud of our partnership with this award-winning airport and excited to be a part of its upward trajectory into the future.
