Michael Pochop, P.E.

Michael Pochop is a vice president and project manager for Hanson’s railway market. He has served in four of Hanson’s offices across the country — opening two new offices — in his 20 years with the employee-owned company.
During his career, he has managed studies, asset inventories, capacity projects, terminal improvements and new branch line extensions, and his projects have involved six of the seven Class 1 railways as well as regional and industrial railways.
Mike has extensive experience with projects involving railway design and programming. He enjoys customizing and leading multidisciplinary teams for the benefit of private- and public-sector clientele on urban and rural projects. His projects have successfully addressed challenges in constructability, permitting, innovative materials, accelerated project delivery and international issues. Mike’s responsibilities also have encompassed extensive public relations and public meeting involvement. He is comfortable closely working with various local, municipal, county or borough clients as well as state and federal agencies.
Mike is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and serves on its Functional Group Board of Directors. He also is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
