Matthew Slager, P.E., CGD, LEED AP
Prior to joining Hanson in 2010, Matthew Slager was a mechanical engineer at an engineering consulting firm in Rock Island, Illinois. As the chief mechanical engineer at Hanson, he leads the firm’s group of mechanical engineers and designers on technical issues. He also provides mechanical engineering design for a variety of projects, including Department of Defense, higher education, K-12, sports, data center, commercial, healthcare, laboratory, government and rail facilities. He is experienced in the design of a variety of HVAC systems, including variable air volume, air source variable refrigerant flow (VRF), geothermal VRF, chilled beams, displacement ventilation, heating and cooling plants, geothermal heat exchangers and energy recovery systems, as well as smoke evacuation systems, plumbing, fire protection and building automation control systems.
In 2018, Matthew received Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s 40 Under 40 Award.
He is a member of ASHRAE and a board member of the Geothermal Alliance of Illinois.
