Bill Pongracz, P.E.

Bill Pongracz joined Hanson in 2019 and serves as an assistant vice president and the company’s practice lead for construction and asset management. In this role, he oversees the allocation of Hanson’s surveying and data collection, owner representation, property management and construction observation staff. He ensures that the proper technical personnel are available to Hanson’s market principals and project managers to efficiently and professionally serve project needs.

Bill has more than 30 years of years of engineering and management experience, combining geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and environmental experience with an extensive management background. His technical experience includes developing scope, cost and management of geotechnical drilling and laboratory testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO and department of transportation standard specifications; developing and managing field and laboratory construction materials testing and inspection services; and managing environmental projects, including environmental site assessments, leaking underground petroleum tank investigations and asbestos and lead investigations. Market sectors served include government, commercial, retail, educational, telecommunications, industrial and power/energy.     

As vice president and director of the Illinois and Indiana regions for a national engineering firm for more than 20 years, Bill had overall managerial and financial responsibility for nine operating units, including department managers, professionals, sales/marketing managers, field and lab technicians and administrative staff. His responsibilities included developing strong client relationships across the markets served to promote client satisfaction.

Bill is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
