Austin celebrates 35 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jimmie Austin Jr., technician, recently celebrated 35 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters.
Austin joined the company in 1983. Serving the infrastructure market, his responsibilities include computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and surveying for civil, transportation and site-development projects. He also assists with the organization of the public-involvement program for the Springfield Rail Improvements Project and is involved in communicating with the public about the project. He has worked on a variety of projects, including the Lincoln Home restoration, MacArthur Boulevard expansion and the Stanford Avenue extension, all in Springfield.
Austin has been an Illinois Department of Transportation approved fee negotiator since 2009. He is a founding member of Young Springfield Professionals Network and a graduate of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Springfield.
