Hanson opens New England office

BOSTON, MA. – Hanson Professional Services Inc., a national employee-owned consulting firm, has opened its 16th office. The newest office is in North Andover, Mass., serving the northeastern United States. The New England office specializes in civil, municipal and transportation engineering services. The entire firm provides a full range of architectural, engineering, scientific and program management services.

Gary Gordon will serve as the New England regional office manager and will also head up that region’s operations and business development for Hanson-Wilson, a joint venture providing service to the railroad industry.

Before joining Hanson, Gordon held positions with consulting firms, the U.S. government and a railway company. He has participated in railroad value engineering for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and performed feasibility studies for U.S. and overseas military facilities. He has also provided planning and design services for track, grade crossing, intermodal terminal and transit infrastructure reconstruction projects. Gordon also served as city engineer for two eastern Massachusetts communities (Gloucester and Medford), where he was involved in sewer, road, dam, bridge and water treatment projects. In addition to his engineering career, Gordon retired as a lieutenant colonel, U.S. Army Reserve, with dual qualifications as an engineer officer and transportation officer. Many of his assignments involved rail and transportation infrastructure evaluation. Gordon holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering and an MBA.
