Hanson
wins national honor for work at recreation site
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Hanson Professional Services Inc. won
the Award of Honor, the third highest award presented by the Association
of Conservation Engineers (ACE) for work at the Jim Edgar Panther
Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area. The tenth annual Carl Anderson
Conservation Project Engineering Awards were designed to recognize
those who best exhibit the goals and objectives of ACE.
Hanson, along with Cochran & Wilken Inc. and Evan Lloyd & Associates
Inc., all in Springfield, teamed up with the Illinois Department
of Natural Resources to create the recreational site at the former
Site M near Chandlerville. The project is notable for containing
many features that are “first” in Illinois, including
wetlands for sewage treatment and major shoreline bio-erosion control
methods. These and many other “firsts” are now prototypes
for facilities across the state.
The award will be presented at the national conference in Charleston,
S. C., Nov. 16-19.
Hanson is a national employee-owned consulting firm providing
architectural, engineering and management services to clients from
its corporate headquarters in Springfield, Ill., and 14 offices
nationwide.
